In 1963, the nation came together to commemorate his birth centenary, leading to the establishment of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari and the formation of the Vivekananda Service Organization aimed at nation-building. In December 1995, a significant program was organized to honor the centenary of his meditation at Shreepad Shila, where he envisioned India's unity and potential to send a message to the world. The event, named "Vivekananda Bharat Parikrama," covered a distance of 7,000 km from Kolkata to Kanyakumari over 347 days, passing through 187 cities and villages. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about national unity and emotional integration among people, particularly the youth, while also organizing various programs throughout the journey.
